Aware of the One
Rama I had the good
fortune to meet Rama when he was alive. Many of you did not meet him
when he was alive in the physical body. However, you have met Rama since
he has left the body. From the stories you have told, it seems that
you have developed a working relationship with your teacher, even though
you can’t sit in a class and experience his physical presence. Therefore, the
quote above works for you, just the same as it works for me. Here is
the thing, and I believe it is the hardest part of the truth we try
to integrate. We
are ONE. When
the teacher burns up the final composites of self, what is left understands
the oneness. Until then, the student looks at the teacher in awe, enraptured
by the radiance and light of the teacher. Stay with me
here. Lately I have not been focusing much on Rama. I haven’t been aware
of his presence outside of myself. I haven’t had many dreams with him,
although I have been having lots of dreams with students. More students
are showing up to meditation classes, and I am aware that the meditations
are pretty intense, and that my comfort as a meditation teacher has
grown. (This is in great part connected to the fact that there are 6
teachers at the center, and therefore the center is filled with more
energy and light.) I have been
experiencing the world from that wonderful sparkly awareness that I
have come to associate with dissolving into infinity through Rama. I am wondering
if part of the changes I have observed in myself could be my awakening
to the oneness. Maybe that would explain why I don’t spend a lot of
time searching inwardly for Rama and looking for answers. Maybe there
is a subtle shift that we slide into, a space where we begin to notice
that there are not two beings sitting by the bridge that is flowing.
Maybe that subtle shift takes awhile to integrate, and maybe we begin
to know what Rama meant when he said: .
“This is a very complex process. The most beautiful process that I know
of, in which two beings become aware that they’re one.” I like this
explanation – it inspires me. Could be it is just a comfortable delusion
that hides the fact that I have slipped into the world of illusion.
In either case, I am happy that my world is filled with hummingbirds
and hot sandy beaches. ARCHIVES! Touch

From Rama's Teachings Rama presented thousands of techniques that were intended to help students along their own pathway to enlightenment. Techniques presented here may be useful for you. The teachings are meant to be used by students who are serious about their practice, and their own enlightenment. A
