Pass the Dharma Spread, Please!
"Advanced
meditation has to do with spreading the dharma . . . In other words,
meditation just can't be for personal gain. You need to consider now,
actively, the welfare of others."
We know it is not a good idea to
compare our self and our practice and level of "achievement" in the
art of meditation with other students. But we do.
Afterall, it is the American Way, or more precisely, the human way.
Problem is, we really can't compare. But we can observe. We can observe
ourselves. We can observe others.
As we observe we can listen to Rama's words: "So
Advanced Practice is not simply meditating a couple times a day. But
it's living your meditation 24 hours a day, doing more for others, contributing
with your love, with your effort, supporting the spread of dharma."
So if your human side wants to do some self-evaluation, if that seems
like an interesting pastime, you could ask yourself; "What
am I doing to help spread the dharma?"
I have noticed an increase in dharma activity recently. Seems like a
lot of students are organizing activities that will offer opportunities
for adventures in light. As I observe, and use
Rama's words as an angstrom, the measurement points to a lot of advanced
meditation practice!!
So the next time you are hanging out with a group of students in the
local cafe, be sure and ask them to pass the dharma spread. It's "lighter"
than butter! :~)

From
Rama's Teachings
Rama
presented thousands of techniques that were intended to help students
along their own pathway to enlightenment. Techniques presented here
may be useful for you. The teachings are meant to be used by students
who are serious about their practice, and their own enlightenment.
A
special thanks to
